*Jetstar offers 20% cheaper airfares on its Japan route than usually

Jetstar Airways, beginning serving scheduled flights between Sydney and Kansai International Airport (via Brisbane from Sydney to Kansai) on March 25 next year, announced at a news conference in Osaka on July 26 that the Qantas-affiliated low cast airline would offer special airfares of 20,000 yen, except fuel surcharges, for the flights during the limited period from March 25 to June 60 next year, for whicha ticketing term is effective until August 1 this year. The airlinesaid that it has ensured 25% of all seats a flight (65 seats approximately) for the special airfares.

*Kansai forecasts more international passengers will depart this summer

Kansai International Airport released the passenger forecast for this summervacation season (July 21 to August 20) on July 19, reporting that the number of international flight passengers will be up 1% to 1,050,000 during the period compared to a year earlier. The forecasted number is the third most international flight passengers since it opened.

*Japan and China have agreed on 20% increase of airtransport capacities

Minister of Land, Infrastructure and Transport of Japan (MLIT) Kazuo Kitagawa and Director of the General Administration of Civil Aviation of China (CAAC) Yang Yuanyuan met in Beijing on July 13 to reach a final agreement on respectively 20% increase of air transport capacities between both countries. According to the agreement, each country will be able to serve another 92 passenger flights a week in the equivalence to B767-300 and another 76 cargo flights a week in the equivalence to B767-300F.

*JAL ties up with JTB for overseas charter flight products

JAL Group and JTB Group, the leading travel company of Japan, announced on July 5 that the pair has signed a basic agreement on business tie-ups, including joint planning of overseas charter flight products, joint development of JTB and JAL PAK package products and partnerships in arranging trips for foreign visitors to Japan. Regarding jointplanning of charter flights, JTB World Vacations, a travel wholesale company of JTB Group, and JAL PAK, a travel wholesale company of JAL Group, will jointly make travel products for more than 100 charter flights available nationwide.

Bombardier is making every effort to improve dispatch reliability in Japan

Trung Ngo, Bombardier Aerospace Vice President Marketing Communication, saidat an interview with the Wing Aviation Press that the top priority is to meet a high standard of dispatch reliability required by Japanese airlines. For that, Bombardier is making every effort, working together with airlines and suppliers, Ngo explained.
