*JAL admits a series of the mishaps resulted from low awareness for safe operation

JAL Group reported improvement measures for safe operation to Minster of Land, Infrastructure and Transport Kazuo Kitagawa on April 14 this year, in response to the Business Improvement Order and AdministrativeWarnings that were issued against a series of the incidents by Japan Civil Aviation Bureau (JCAB) on March 17. Following a series of incidents involving JAL maintenance and flight operations between December 2004 and March 2005, JCAB has issued the Business Improvement Order to Japan Airlines International and Administrative Warningsto Japan Airlines Corporation, the group holding company, and JapanAirlines Domestic.

*IATA hopes Narita will reduce its landing charge by 20%

Giovanni Bisignani, Director General and CEO of the International Air Transport Association (IATA), said at a news conference in the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport of Japan on April 11 this year, "I highly appreciates that Narita will decide to reduce its landing charge by 20%." As reported before, Narita International Airport Co. (NAA) intends to propose reduction rate of the landing charge to IATA as soon as it releases the final financial result for FY2004.

*Nissan has decided to invest 150 million yen to Star Flyer

Nissan Motor announced on April 4 that it has decided to invest 150 million yen to Star Flyer, which is a newcomer airline based on New Kitakyushu Airport. Nissan will make the investment by accepting allocation of new shares to third parties from Star Flyer, and the additional investment will be approved at a general stockholder meeting of Star Flyer.

*Narita possibly determines to reduce landing charge in FY2005

Narita International Airport Co. (NAA) released the FY2005 Business Plan onMarch 29 this year, announcing that it has three major focuses: reduction oflanding charge, extension of the 2nd runway to 2,500 metersand completionof the first passenger terminal and development of Narita New High SpeedRailway system. As NAA forecasts to handle 1.5% more passengers and 0.5%more take-offs and landings for FY2005 than a year ago, it expects toincrease operating revenue by 10% to 163billion yen, compared with theestimated result for FY2004.
