MHI joins the B747-400 Special Freighter program
Mitsubishi Heavy Industries (MHI) announced on September 28 that it has signed a contract with Boeing to join the 747-400 Special Freighter program to produce the main-deck cargo door and surround structure. The program, which is to convert a 747-400 passenger airplane to a freighter version, is also participated by Xian Aircraft Industry Company and TAECO (Taikoo (Xiamen) Aircraft Engineering Co. Ltd.
