ANA selects Trent 1000 for its Boeing 7E7

ANA announced on October 13 that the board of directors has decided to select Roll-Royce's Trent 1000 as engines for its 50 Boeing 7E7s, which will be delivered from FY2008. It is the first Roll-Royce engine for ANA since ANA used the maker's engine for its TriStar in 1970's.The selection of Trent 1000 by ANA, a launch customer for Boeing 7E7, may influence other 7E7 customers that have not selected enginesyet and will be critical for Roll-Royce to develop the business in the Japanese market.
