ANA President: "We strongly hope to make a profit on the international flight business."

ANA President Yoji Ohashi emphasized at a news conference with aviation journalists on October 1, "We strongly hope to make a profit on the international flight business for this fiscal year, which is our commitment, though the airline industry is suffering from the recent rise of oil price." He added that ANA had improved both business and tourist passengers on its international flights during the second quarter of FY2004. On its China routes particularly, ANA successfully carried more passengers for the quarter than those for the same quarter of FY2002. ANA highly expects to keep increasing passengers on its China routes for the second half of FY2004 afterOctober as well.
